Historically, one of the primary duties of community supervision has been monitoring and enforcing compliance. However, the field has evolved to include the application of Core Correctional Practices and has shifted from an enforcement to a coaching style of supervision. Additionally, the treatment court team relies on community supervision to share progress not only regarding compliance but also regarding progress toward participants’ psychosocial stability and responses to interventions targeting criminogenic needs.
