Treatment courts operate at the intersection of justice, rehabilitation, and compassion, requiring ethical decision-making that is both principled and practical. This presentation examines the unique ethical challenges faced by treatment court teams, including judicial conduct, team roles, participant rights, confidentiality, incentives and sanctions, and and dual relationships. Through real-world scenarios and best practices, participants will explore the ethical standards applicable to various team roles. This session invites candid discussion across disciplines, where judges and clinicians can grapple with the practical and philosophical questions that shape fair, ethical, and person-centered treatment court practice.
